Dell Technologies Announces Next Generation Blade Server – MX750c

(UPDATED 4.7.2021) Earlier this month, Dell Technologies launched their next generation server line based on the upcoming 3rd Generation Intel Xeon SP processor.  Here is what we know.

Overview of the PowerEdge MX750c

If the design of the PowerEdge MX750c looks familiar, it should.  It uses the same form factor as the PowerEdge MX740c.  From this, we can assume that it will have the same physical attributes as the MX740c such as supporting 3 fabrics, hosting 8 servers within an MX7000 chassis and supporting up to 6 hot-plug SAS or NVMe drives.  We also found that we’ll see these systems in May.

Now that the embargo has lifted for Intel’s 3rd Generation Xeon SP, here are some of the key specifics you need to know for the PowerEdge MX750c:

  • Support for up to 2 x 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors with up to 40 cores per processor
  • Support for up to 32 DIMM slots (16 / CPU)
  • Support for Intel Persistent Memory 200 series (x16)
  • Optional Hardware RAID for NVMe with the PERC H755N
  • Up to 6 x 2.5″ hot-plug drives (SAS/SATA/NVMe)
  • 2 x Networking mezzanines (up to 4 x 25GbE each)
  • 1 x Storage mezzanine supporting SASS or 16/32 Gb Fibre Channel
